Irony

"Today, I was telling off one of my friends, a fellow student of medicine, who was spending his evenings watching "House" instead of revising for our important exam, as I was. The topic mentioned in the episode came up in the exam. He got 4 points more than I did."

Out the corner of my ear...

Ears

"Punctuality is the virtue of the bored."
That's what I heard while waiting at the C.P.A. office this morning...
I had no clue I've been bored my whole life.

F#@!$% taxes....

Lost

So there is all this talk about recession, bailout and all. My parents call me every so often freaking out about how am I doing. They try to convince me that I should be pulling my hair out.
Maybe is just that I come from a 3rd world country where recessions are much worse, maybe is because I have no debt to speak of, maybe I'm in an area of the country not as badly affected.
There is always the possibility that I'm simply poor and things didn't change since I've been cheap for God knows how many decades.
Lately work was a bit slow so I applied for positions with two companies. Lo and behold I was hired.
So I was asking myself. Is this recession really that bad? Maybe my skills are marketable. Or the bottom dwellers of the pay scale are just fairing better.
Things were not adding up. I didn't know what to make of it but I didn't give too much thought to it either.
Since it's that lovely time of the year, I decided to do my taxes. Holy f&$#@ing, shit!!!! That's where the recession was hidden!!!
What the flying f#@@&! How in the world can somebody that makes as little as I do owe f&%$#@ing taxes!
Seriously Obama!? Holy shit man!

Pourquoi revient cette formule aimée
“Au bord du monde encore une fois”
Qu’est ce bord, qu’est ce ‘bord’, être-au-bord

La terrasse des princes de Rimbaud

Ayant passé par ici qui repassera par là

We change the map

Pier

I have been always one for paths myself.
The mole’s view. Paths and small roads and the next bend.
Arched trees tunnelling into a coin of light.
No overview, no sense of what lies where.

Pinning up maps now, pinning my attention,
I cannot hold whole countries in my mind,
nor recognise their borders.
